Winamp Link

Thanks to Martin McCormick, WB5AGZ, we now have a *nix shell script for all you *noids who want to listen to Winamp feeds.
Try this:

#! /bin/sh
mpg123 http://suffolkscanner.redirectme.net:8000/stream

Modify as needed for any other Winamp stream you want to monitor.

Thanks, Martin.

Download Winamp
Download Icecast2
Download the Oddcast plugin for Winamp

You'll also need the lame encoder.  Extract it from the zip file and put it into your Winamp folder.

Version 2 has now been released.  See the Readme.txt file for changes.  Note: This version is for the BC246T and BCD396T only.  Use the 245 version for all older Uniden scanners.

If you don't have a static IP (if your internet address changes every
time you connect [click here to see your current IP address]), go to No-IP.com
to get a "pseudo-static" address.  (It's free.)  Even if you do have a static
IP, this will give you a name to connect to, rather than an IP number.
(suffolkscanner.redirectme.net is a No-IP address.)

If you need help in getting your router to allow you to run a server, Port Forward can help.

There's a nice little Icecast/Oddcast tutorial at this site.

We now have MacPcr for download, thanks to the author, Thierry Wautelet, and Vincent, a poster on alt.comp.freeware.

From Vincent's posting on usenet:
>Remember that the
>author don't support it anymore, and please be clear it's a MacOS X
>program for the control of an Icom PCR-1000 (I can't try it, don't
>have a Mac and neither an Icom PCR-1000) so it will be easy for people
>interested in it to find it via a Google search.

>A MacPcr screenshot is here: >http://web.archive.org/web/20040610135444/http://homepage.mac.com/twautele/

>There is another program that makes the same of MacPcr, it's
